The 6x3x3 is the oven for the shop that has outgrown a tall, narrow box and needs real cube: a full 3-by-3 footprint at 6 feet of height. It swallows what the smaller sizes can't. ATV and golf-cart frames, motorcycle and automotive parts, and larger industrial batches all fit inside and cure in one run instead of in pieces. Rockwool is the premium choice for insulation. Every oven with the 6 inch top is filled with R30 rockwool as standard, and that top covers about 30 percent of the oven's surface area.
It costs about three times what standard insulation costs. We use it anyway, because the top is where the heat goes.

Heat rises. Natural convection pulls it to the ceiling of the oven, so the ceiling is where you lose it.
R30 rockwool in a deeper ceiling cavity against R11 in a shallow one is a 63 percent reduction in heat loss through the top. You also get a more consistent finish run to run, because the box holds its temperature instead of chasing it.
The 63 percent figure compares an R30 ceiling to an R11 ceiling, using published R-value data from insulationrvalues.com/fiberglass-vs-mineral-wool. It describes heat loss through the top of the oven, not a guaranteed utility bill.

Fully recessed and flush with the ceiling, so the light can never interfere with loading or unloading. It throws light down across your parts, top to bottom.
The housing is reached from an access panel on top of the oven, so changing a bulb does not mean climbing inside. Each window comes with its own interior light and its own switch on the control box.

The dual door latches connect to the sheet metal and the structural frame across the entire front and side of the oven, wrapping around both the front corner and the back corner.
When the latch is engaged it has the full strength of the oven frame behind it. That gives you a door seal that actually seals, and keeps the heat inside where it matters.

We did not have to put custom inside corner brackets from top to bottom in our ovens. We could have squirted some high temp sealant in the corner and called it a day.
Instead the sheet of steel is overlapped from the back wall, so there is no crack to see through. High temp RTV sealant goes over that. Then a custom top to bottom bracket goes over it, covering the wall seam mechanically and adding rigidity. That is the triple seal.

The common way to build an oven door is to put the handle on the front. That works fine until you are loading a part and the door starts to swing closed on you. Your only option then is to push on the inside of a hot door.
We mount ours on the side. You can grab the handle even when you are half inside the oven, without reaching all the way around the door.

We do not just use standard mechanical fasteners. We take the extra step and install permanent rivets on all joining surfaces of the structural frame, on every Silverback product.
No loosening of the frame, for the lifetime of the product. Most others use screwed connections only.

The control box is the heart of the oven, and it holds the most expensive parts to replace if something ever happens to them. Electronics last longer when they run cooler.
So every control box comes standard on a custom stay cool bracket that holds it about two inches off the oven wall, with an air gap behind it. The controls stay at ambient temperature and the oven lasts longer.

Butt joints scream bare minimum. We chose to do more, because it looks better and it works better.
On a common oven frame the ceiling sits on top of the side walls, so butt jointed face trim leaves that seam exposed. That is heat loss and no added strength. Our 45 degree mitered face trim covers the seam completely and mends the ceiling to the side wall. Then a second custom piece covers the miter itself.

If you need it to run your oven, it comes standard. We do not believe in making the basics cost more. You can add features, but we will not charge you for something that should have been in the box.
On the 30 amp models it is a NEMA L14-30 twist lock on 10/4 wire. The 50 amp models get the same treatment. It plugs in instead of being hardwired.

A PID controller holds a precise temperature for a set period of time, with a built in timer. A basic thermostat swings.
Auto tune is the part that matters. It calibrates itself to your specific oven model in your specific shop environment, so the oven learns its own room instead of guessing.

Is this company real? Who am I buying from?
Fair question with an oven this size and price. Silverback is a real shop. Every oven is built and tested in our Illinois shop, our address is on this site, and the company is veteran owned. Call and talk to an actual person.
Will it work with my power?
This oven runs on 240V single phase, the standard heavy circuit in most shops. The standard two-element build needs a 30-amp double-pole breaker. The three-element upgrade for bigger loads steps up to a 50-amp double-pole breaker. Either way it plugs in with the included twist-lock cord, no hardwiring. Everything your electrician needs is in the spec table above. Not sure? Call us and we can help you figure out what fits.
I could just build one myself.
You could, and on materials alone a home build can come out cheaper. The real cost is time and risk: the weekends spent cutting, sealing, and wiring are weekends not spent coating paid work, and a home build is not engineered, tested, or warrantied. This oven shows up in 5 to 7 business days, wired and ready, with a 2-year parts warranty behind it. If you are set on building, we also sell the controller and parts separately, which are the hard part to source.
Will it fit my parts?
This is a big-cube standard oven: a full 3-by-3 footprint at 6 feet tall. The interior above is usable space, not the outside of the box, so measure your longest and widest part and check it against those numbers. If you are close, or you need it bigger, call us to talk it through.
How do I know it holds temperature?
Every oven is powered on and run through every function before it ships, and pre-programmed at 350 degrees with a 10-minute timer. The PID auto-tunes to hold your set temperature within one degree, heating and cooling, and you can re-run that auto-tune in your own shop. On our standard oven line a 6-inch R-30 rockwool top comes standard, and you can step the walls up to R-15 dense mineral wool if you want more.
What is included in the price?
It arrives ready to run. The power cord and matching outlet come in the box, everything ships fully wired, tested, and pre-programmed, and a 2-year parts warranty and lifetime phone support are included at no upcharge. Add-ons are optional, so you only pay for what your work needs.
What is ramp and soak, and who needs it?
Ramp and soak means the controller steps through a temperature schedule on its own: it ramps up to a temperature, holds it (the soak), then moves to the next step. Most powder jobs cure at a single temperature, so the standard controller covers them. If you run multi-step cures like Cerakote, ramp and soak is exactly what you want.
In our line, ramp and soak comes on the Bluetooth Ramp and Soak controller, which you program from your phone. The other controllers, including the touchscreen, do not include it.
What does freight shipping cost?
Ovens ship LTL freight, and what you see at checkout is the carrier's price to move your oven to your address. We pass it on, we do not add to it. Most orders land between $300 and $400. Typical extra charges are a residential fee and a liftgate fee, and each one applies only if it applies to your delivery.
Everything ships packaged with sturdy plywood protective skirting, wrapped, and strapped for the road. If it arrives visibly damaged, note it with the driver and we will make it right.

Shipping, in plain terms
Your oven ships on a custom pallet wrapped in plastic and strapped, with 48-inch plywood protective skirting around it. Two charges are added only when they apply: $70 for residential delivery and $70 for a liftgate if you have no dock or forklift. To see your freight cost, add the oven to your cart and continue to checkout. Transit is usually 3 to 5 days.
Warranty and support
A 2-year parts warranty comes standard on this oven. And you get lifetime phone support: call us for as long as you own your oven and we will walk you or your electrician through setup, programming, or a repair, no matter when you bought. Warranty parts are sent out once you mail the broken part back.
Returns
Cancel within 24 hours for a full refund; after that a 20% restocking fee applies. Returns within 30 days of receiving the oven carry a 20% restocking fee, you cover return shipping, and the oven must be in original condition.
If there is major damage, refuse the shipment and we will handle the claim, repair or replace, and reship.
